NMEA 0183 describes a standard for communication between navigation devices on ships, which was defined by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) and is also used for communication between GPS receivers, PCs and mobile devices. The NMEA Buffer amplifies the incoming signal to an NMEA compliant level to ensure that it is correctly sent to the connected receivers. Gadgets with NMEA 0183 interfaces are usually designed to enable one transmitter to send its data to up to four receivers. However, if you want to send the signals to more devices, or if a transmitter does not comply with the standard and therefore cannot supply four receivers, you need an NMEA buffer that can distribute the signals. Another advantage of using an NMEA distributor is that with high-quality equipment the inputs/outputs of all devices are galvanically isolated, thus avoiding interference or damage due to ground loops or overvoltages. Buy your buffer now at Querin and never lose a signal.
