SSAS Unit
A Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) gives you a high level of security against acts of piracy or terrorism. This is a project of the International Maritime Organizations (IMO) to increase maritime security. The alert unit is easily connected to an Inmarsat system to forward a signal when your ship is under attack by intruders. The shipping company can choose to which contacts your ship’s name, location, MMSI number and other important information is sent to in case of an emergency. These can for example be the ship’s company itself, the flag state, the management company or headquarters. If the signal is emitted, the responsible law-enforcement or military force can be sent to the rescue.
