Gyro Compass
The Gyro compass is a non-magnetic compass that uses a motor-driven gyroscope to indicate the true north. Thus, it gathers navigational data and helps you travel through the maritime environment. Course and speed dependent travel errors have to be taken into account, and therefore the device is mostly used on slower ships. As they work independently of the geomagnetic field, they show you the astronomical (true north) not the magnetic north direction.
