ECDIS

An ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) is an electronic navigation system for commercial shipping that replaces nautical paper charts. An ECDIS consists of hardware, software, the digital nautical charts, and is fed with data from all the important navigational equipment on the bridge. With the ECDIS, you know whether your vessel can safely pass a specific depth and will sound an alarm when you are approaching a dangerous area. It helps to avoid dangerous situations as it can assess the properties of different objects. Want better navigation? Get an ECDIS now at our shop!

ECDIS for ships

ECDIS systems are useful for day-to-day life on a ship. The following data can be displayed on a single screen:

nautical chart
radar
course line and current location of the own ship
position and navigation data (planning data, recorded track information)
AIS symbols

The chart section to be displayed is determined automatically when the ship's position is moved, so that at least 25 % of the chart image is always visible in the ship's forward direction. A manual chart change is not necessary.

Why you should use an ECDIS

To safely navigate from one place to another, the touch-screen is easy to use and is connected to the ENCs and other navigation tools. It is a cost-effective tool and versatile in its use. You want your work to be less complex? The multi touch user interface makes complex work easier to do. You can control ECDIS navigation and more easily and faster manage, view and interpret information and action tasks.

You are the leader of a crew on a big vessel? ECDIS gives your crew the power to work faster. It is easier for your crew members to load and display ENCs and increase their performance while having a better performance standard. Furthermore, most ECDIS are compatible with all official ENC services.

Installation and the set-up is easy – the unit detects different sensors it is automatically connected to. Ranging from motion to positioning and heading devices such as AIS and ARPA. The work on the ship will be easier than before as the ECDIS helps the data flow from the back to the front bridge. Thus, improving the planning and voyage execution as well as the experience on board.
